    Colosseum

This is one of the most important and majestic buildings made by the Romans, and definitely the most famous in the world . The Flavian Amphitheatre, this is its real name, was built by the emperor Vespasiano in 72 d.c. and completed by Tito in 80 d.c. With its capacity of 50.000 spectators, a real miracle of engineering at that time, its was used to host the biggest attraction of the city: the Games.

Here slaves, animals and even ships were used to make real battles where nobody was blameless and where life or death was determined by destiny or by the Emperor’s will, who with his thumb could have decided everybody fate. if you are still wandering where to stay in Rome, have a look at our Colosseum apartments.
